Hello

Hello, my name is Stuart Rutter and welcome to my new website. I am a Registered National Disability Insurance Scheme Provider and Social Worker. My organisation is called “Rutter Social Work Services”. I provide counselling and social work services to NDIS participants. My support items include Counselling/Therapy Support for various mental health issues including Depression, Anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder to build capacity for daily life skills and independence as much as possible.

I have a lived experience of disability which helps me to offer empathy and encouragement, and connect with NDIS participants. I understand their needs and goals and have a good working knowledge of NDIS supports and services. My goal is to support NDIS participants with a person-centred approach to give the individual more “Choice and Control”, and increased independence and functioning to enjoy a meaningful life where possible. I want to show people living with disability that there is hope. Hope for independence, hope for a positive future and hope for a meaningful life.

I gained great satisfaction from completing my BacheIor of Social Work in Adelaide. I have worked as a Peer Support Worker and Life Skills Worker in Community Mental Health Services. My own NDIS plan enables me to run my own business under the NDIS as well. I am both a NDIS participant as well as a provider of NDIS supports and services. My journey has given me a goal. I want to use my training in counselling to help others. The techniques of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Mindfulness have helped me so much along the way. I want to use my lived experience of disability to give others a sense of purpose and hope on their journey to wellbeing.
